REVIEW: Paradise Grille (Marietta, GA)

Hola everyone :)

Just wanted to let you all know I am a little behind on my reviews due to school reasons, so I won't be able to post daily as much. But I will do my best to have at least three posts per week for you all to enjoy & I hope you all understand!

On to today's review, which brings me to Marietta, GA where I spent the day visiting my cousins that live in the area. When I was younger, I used to stay with my relatives for weeks at a time during the summer (since my cousins are about the same age as me). While my relatives have since moved closer to us, my cousins still live in the area due to work and school, hence my visit.

Here's how we picked this restaurant:
*LUNCHTIME-11:48AM*
Cousin- "Sandy, what are you in the mood for?"
Me-"I don't know-you know I'm not picky. Somewhere local. Somewhere good. Hmmm I think I'm craving Mexican and American food."
Cousin-"I've got JUST the spot-let's go! Hurry up already!"
Me-"And this is why we're family"

Haha I just love him :) Within seconds of answering, he already knew the perfect place.

Let's get started:

♫Exterior of the restaurant-classy on the outside

 ♫Mexican Menu

 ♫Queso & Guacamole ($7.50)

 ♫Durango Chicken Sandwich ($8.95)

 ♫Chile Relleno ($2.95)

FOOD (5/5): DELICIOUS! The food here was awesome! What's great about this restaurant is that they have an extensive American menu, in addition to an extensive Mexican menu, so you really do get the best of both worlds, especially if you're craving both, like me. For our party of four, we shared a queso and guacamole appetizer. Both were pretty great, not bland, but flavorful, with just the perfect amount of seasoning and mix into both. My favorite part about this appetizer was the fact that the two came in taco bowls, so that right after the queso and guacamole were finished, you could snack on the taco bowls themselves, which were still pretty darn crunchy as well. Also, since I was pre-warned that the portions here were ginormous, I didn't want to get too full yet. I was in the mood for something fried, something unhealthy, but still delicious. My cousin recommended I ordered their Durango Chicken Sandwich. You can get your chicken cooked any way you'd like (grilled, fried, or blackened), topped with cheese, avocado, bacon and more-ALL sandwiched in between two huge Texas toasts. And if you aren't in the mood for fries, you could have also substituted for something else instead, like rice and beans, potatoes and more. OH MY LORD. I was in utter shock when it came out. Not a bad shock, but a really really good shock. He wasn't kidding when he said their portions were BIG. I'm in no means overexaggerating, but the sandwich was probably one of the biggest I've ever seen/eaten. It was absolutely delicious. Since the whole thing wouldn't fit into my mouth, I had to eat it separately until I could eventually squish the sides. The fried chicken was cooked to perfection and was moist and flavorful. That, in addition to the medley of bacon, cheese, and avocados on top were delicious. The sweet and salty sauce secretly hidden inside was the cherry on top. I'm still amazed that a sandwich that large and that freaking delicious could cost less than $10-there's just no way. Not thinking that the sandwich would be enough, I also ordered a chile relleno on the side. It's one of my favorites, so when I saw it, I had to order it and try theirs out. It's about $0.50-$1.00 more than the place I usually get mine from, but theirs was just as flavorful, if not more than the usual place. It came on a scolding hot plate with the relleno topped with cheese and red sauce. Super soft chile, followed by seasoned ground beef in each bite-I think I saw the heavens opening up. Food here was incredible! I'll now have a reason to go to Marietta often, besides seeing visiting my cousins ;).

SERVICE (5/5): Super friendly and attending. The employees here are young-or at least from what I saw. I'd say majority of the servers/hostess are in their late teens to early 20s. It's definitely a very hip and casual environment, somewhere to grab a few drinks with your girlfriends at at the long bar, or to grab lunch/dinner by yourself or with your friends and family. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted and seated in one of the booths. Not much long later, our orders were taken and drinks were brought out to us. We came in during the lunch crowd on Saturday, but within 10 minutes of placing our orders, our food arrived PIPING hot from the kitchen. You don't find that kind of service in Atlanta, you just don't. Our server was great at making recommendations for us, and was very attentive in clearing our table, bringing us more water, condiments, and etc. The manager even made his way around to ask how we were doing and how our meals were-which was a great sight to see as well.

DECOR (5/5): This isn't an upscale, unaffordable restaurant, this has your typical casual Mexican decor spread out through the restaurant. While I don't really remember much of what was on the walls and such, I do remember that there were plenty of Corona paraphernalia spread throughout the ceilings (banners, etc) of the restaurant, and posters of the brand as well. This place would've made a killing if it were in Athens-it's seriously was and would have been the perfect place for any college student. Amazing and affordable food, great selection,  tasty drinks and friendly waitstaff-it was the perfect combination.

All-in-all, I would recommend this restaurant to ANYBODY-whether you're from the area or aren't-you need to go and get yourself some of their food NOW! I'd recommend anything I ordered (listed and pictured above) as everything was delicious. I had my American cravings and Mexican cravings all settled in one fantastic meal. Honestly, with all the choices on their menu, I could eat here everyday for a month. Leaving on a full stomach enough to land me in a food coma, I was sad to leave this place without getting able to try the entire menu. Guess I'll be making my visit here more often-TRUST ME...it's worth the 30+ mile drive it takes to get here. Also, if you do happen to make room for dessert here, there's a great froyo shop (Yogli Mogli) right next store :)!!
