So today's review focuses on something a little different. Everyone's starting to say that cupcakes are so 2011 and that gourmet donuts are the new thing in 2012. I'm definitely starting to see it. While many also say that donuts are only a breakfast type thing, I see it as being a dessert too. Anyways, every time I drive down the bustling Jimmy Carter Blvd, I've always seen this cute little donut shop (in the same shopping center as Five Guys and next to the Racetrac/Sonic) but didn't really think of stopping in, most of the time because they're only open until 2, which is both good and bad. Good because business is probably pretty darn good since their freshly made donuts are sold out daily, but bad because I can never make it here in time before they close. Pooey, but guess what? I FINALLY got here, boom-shaka-laka-la! And I couldn't be happier-oh so tasty donuts~
Let's get started:

FOOD (5/5): The donuts here were pretty fabulous!! I've always seen this donut shop while driving around the Norcross area, but never thought of stopping in if it hadn't been for my Scoutmob deal here. The orange creme donut had the sweet, but subtle orange flavor. It also pulled apart, sort of like donut holes, so it was easy to pick it out one at a time while driving. The red velvet cake donut here was the REAL winner here. Definitely one of the best I've ever had. The donut itself was moist, dense, and crazy flavorful. The icing on it was only a thin layer, so it wasn't too sweet, but added just the perfect touch. With each bite, I felt like my donut was disappearing and I was getting pretty upset by that. With each bite, I could taste the love that was baked into each bite, I just didn't want it to end-it's as if the donut melted in my mouth it was so soft. Yum! I cannot WAIT to go back and try more of their amazing donuts, I saw a beautiful sunflower donut that looked ever so pretty and delicious too.
SERVICE (5/5): The older Asian lady behind the counter was all smiles and super friendly. Since there were so many different tasty donut flavors, I asked her for recommendations. She said that all the flavors were really good and it depended on taste preferences, but that the red velvet cake donut was a popular choice. So, of course that was what I had to receive. I also have a big thing for anything orange flavored, so that ended up being my 2nd donut. With the Scoutmob deal, 1 donut was free, and the only one was $1 I believe. Not bad at all if you ask me :)
DECOR (5/5): Clean and simple. The decor here was very pretty. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with a beautiful display of donuts neatly placed behind a glass display, a nicely-lit menu with prices, a refrigerator filled with various drinks and much more. There's a couple of tables so that you can enjoy your delectable baked sweets there. Also along the walls, there's a beautiful glass portrait/display of donuts, and it really livens the place up and adds that unique factor. Definitely a great place to bring friends, kids, whomever.
Overall, I absolutely loved this little local doughnut shop not too far from my house. Cute, delicious and affordable, that's definitely my type of shop here. With nothing over $2, no wonder why they always sell out, especially on the weekends. They're only open until 2pm most days, or whenever they sell out, but I now see why.

Have a sweet day,
