HAPPY FRIDAY! For those of you who've had a hectic week, it's time to wind down and take a breather. Just sit back and relax because you're in for a real treat today....literally! Not only did you get a double doozie of Delightful Bites posts, but you also get to share my excitement in introducing this fabulous company, The Protein Bakery, featured in today's write-up!
Did you ever think someone could ever "out bake" your grandma's famous cookies? Well, I didn't...until now that is. Started in November of 1999 by Stephen Lincoln, Protein Bakery has been revolutionizing the way baked goods have been made forever. By combining natural ingredients (heart healthy rolled oats, light brown sugar and more), baking in small batches, and being free of trans-fats, preservatives and wheat flour, no wonder why they're products are such a huge hit amongst celebrities like Oprah, Rachel Ray, and many more. The reason why their products stand out the most is because of the muscle building proteins baked into each of their cookies. According to the site, this "protein makes you feel fuller faster and prevents spikes in blood sugar levels. It's one way to keep the heart beat steady and the body in balance. Every delectable, guilt-free bite is high in dietary fiber, low in gluten, and delivers up to 5 times more protein than the average baked treat." Using over 20+ years in life experiences, Lincoln passionately shares the "balance" that took him a while to perfect, and this clearly shines throughout his products.
Let's get started:
♫Look at this amazing box full of Protein Bakery goodies!
♫The BB (Brownies & Blondies) Crew
♫Coconut Walnut Dark Chip Blondie: what part of the naming DOESN'T sound amazing? Of the three brownie/blondies flavor, this was absolutely INCREDIBLE! Large chunks of walnut with huge chocolate chip pieces and toasted shredded coconut surrounding an incredibly moist and delicious bar, absolutely mouthwatering. By far the BEST rendition of a coconut blondie I've ever had!
♫Chocolate Chip Brownie: I loved the little crispiness of the chocolate chips themselves. They surprisingly didn't melt in this crazy GA heat! Instead, the chips made a little crunch sound, which added that incredible texture to the chocolate brownie. Also, it wasn't incredibly sweet, which made it even more mouthwatering and enjoyable.
♫Wicked Mint Brownie: Before even trying out any of the baked goods, the people at Protein Bakery have already won my heart! My absolute FAVORITE Broadway show is Wicked! After seeing this brownie and glancing at the name, the show automatically popped into my head! The bright green chocolate chips, so very very Wicked! The brownie itself tasted rather similar to that of the Chocolate Chip Brownie, but the mint flavored white chocolate chips brought that subtle mint flavor, which I liked, and especially considering I'm not a huge fan of mint flavored things-but this was pretty mouthwatering too.
♫The Big Cookies Crew
♫Peanut Butter Peanut Butter Chip Cookie: Thank goodness for not skimping on ingredients. There were entire roasted peanuts inside of this one cookie, in addition to peanut pieces all inside of it. Considering how I can only eat a certain amount of peanut products before I start to steer away from them, I thoroughly enjoyed this double peanut cookie without any hesitation.
♫Trail Mix Cookie: Next to the Blondie, this cookie was my absolute favorite thing inside of this box as well! Dried fruits, nuts, oatmeal and everything in between, the name is perfect-it really is a Trail Mix Cookie! So moist, it's not your typical trail mix granola bar, I mean it's in COOKIE form! And don't let the picture fool you, it was ginormous! Definitely made for the perfect snack after the afternoon hike I took with my mom.
♫The Little Cookies Crew
♫Peanut Butter Cookies: Tasted pretty similar to the big peanut butter cookie, minus the peanut butter chips. So moist and delicious with just that perfect balance of peanut butter swirled inside of it, and just a little crumbly.
♫Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies: If I could eat anything I ever wanted and never gained a single pound, I would live off of these cookies. I absolutely love oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies. My grandma used to make them all the time for me when I was younger. Sorry if you're reading this grandma, but these are better---WAY better! So fresh and moist, I actually popped these into the oven and oh my heavens, they were incredible. All that oat-y flavor with the perfect balance of bittersweet chocolate chips, each cookie had an abundance of both ingredients. So decadent-I'm drooling already!
♫Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies: Again, the chocolate chips were magical! Chewy and with that perfect little crunch-these tasted just like the peanut butter cookies but with the extra chocolate chip bonus. These babies sort of reminded me of the nutella and peanut butter sandwiches I used to make for school, but in a cookie form. Add some vanilla ice cream with these and life is gooooooood.
♫Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies: You already know how much I love oatmeal in my cookies, well that plus dried cranberries. Can you say healthy and yummy? Also, the cookie was perfectly baked because as you can tell in the picture, it was a little toasted on top-which is how I take my cookies! Soft, a little toasty, and ridiculously moist! I need to learn how they make these cookies SO darn moist!!
♫Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies: These sort of reminded me of those soft chocolate chip cookies that Chips Ahoy came out with earlier last year. Those were pretty amazing! These.....you can't even compare these with those mass-produced cookies. Chewy chocolate-y chips, moist cookie, my little niece nibbled these up faster than you could count to ten!
♫PACKAGING: Simple and clean, just the way it should be. There's no frills or fancy packaging, each of their product comes in a sealed, plastic packaging with their company's sticker on top and with each of the names. You all know that I've mentioned this before, but I absolutely love it when company's pack their products in clear packaging, and theirs was no exception. It shows that these companies have nothing to hide and that everything is out there in the open-meaning you see how much love and time is put into each of their products, and in this case, Protein Bakery's baked goods. For example, you see the toasted coconuts and chocolate chips in the blondie bar, the green white chocolate chips in the wicked brownie, just to name a few. It's nice to see fantastic, simple packaging, especially when I'm surrounded by cartoon character branded snacks on a daily *cough cough Keebler*.
♫TASTE: I'm a little shocked at how utterly delicious each and every single product I received was absolutely amazing. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of peanut or peanut butter, I thoroughly enjoyed each of the peanut butter cookies. As for my opinions on all of the products, I've included my review under their picture. Again, the coconut walnut dark chip blondie, trail mix cookie and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are DEFINITELY worth mentioning, hands down. If I weren't watching my diet, I bet you without a doubt I'd eat a box of any of those alone! These are seriously super satisfying, especially after the daily mountain hikes I take with my parents. I mean, with all those fresh ingredients, zero trans-fats, and over 17g of protein per product and more, I'd take these over that fatty pork chop any day. Best part about their products: Not overly sweet! Personally, I dislike it when baked goods are so sweet that they become sickening, I just won't touch it after that. These though, weren't overly sweet, but in fact, were just perfect and had the perfect balance of flavors and textures-I'm daydreaming about that trail mix cookie already!
♫RANDOM: While all of their products are incredibly tasty, addicting and a lot healthier than your typical baked goods, you should still be careful and not consume more than you normally would since the calories are still there. Like I've always been told, enjoy everything in moderation, no matter what you're eating. These are known to be sweet treats/a little reward, so make sure you enjoy them one at a time. In order to properly share and provide a proper review, I got to sample a bit of everything, which was so hard to do considering I love my devilish carbs! Sometimes I wish eating carbs were like drinking water instead of turning into sugar, so so sad :(. Fortunately for my family and friends though, they really enjoyed how each product had no wheat flour, no trans fats, and had an abundance of proteins, but tasted far better than what you find at your local bakery and convenience stores. Also, my little nephew who doesn't really enjoy meat products has some trouble getting protein into his diets, so letting him nibble on these cookies assures me that he gets over 17g of protein alone, which makes me very happy.
Overall, it was an absolute delight to be able to share with you all this incredible company! I am definitely planning on making a purchase from them very soon, especially considering all the rave reviews I gave their oatmeal products (oatmeal chocolate chip, oatmeal cranberry and trail mix cookie). So ridiculously mouthwatering and delectable, I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't hear of this company earlier. Baked in small batches using healthy ingredients, there's nothing that doesn't sound good about that, is there? What are you waiting for? Order yourself some TODAY!
