Bashful Bites: Trident Layers Juicy Berry+Tangy Tangerine

What do you do while waiting ten minutes to check out at a grocery store?

Well, if you're like me, I love gazing through the magazines and the new products in the chocolate/gum aisle in each checkout lane. For as long as I can remember, I've been a candy fanatic. Candy could be found in any corner and area of my room, wherever I was, candy was right there. Some even think that's how I got my name because "Sandy rhymes with Candy," and I wouldn't doubt that either since my mom would crave endless amounts of it during her pregnancy with me.

Luckily, living in the US, we have an endless amount of access to candy, especially gum. Millions of different flavors, varying from mint to licorice to all types of fruit flavors, there's one to suit every taste. Before I begin to go on and on, Trident's a brand that has been around for as long as I can remember. In addition to releasing over a dozen of flavors, earlier last year they released their new Trident Layers line. It's different in that there's soft flavored gum layered in between two pieces of Trident gum, creating distinct layers, and making a what you call a "gum sandwich."This flavor is the NEWEST addition to their ever-growing line.

Here it is:

☀Outer packaging (FRONT)

☀Nutritional information (BACK)

☀What you see upon opening

☀Had to take the photo without the flash so that the layers are easier to view

☀PACKAGING (5/5): Blue and orange are some of my favorite colors. For all the Trident layers chewing gum, the image on the front of the package are fruits: the one with a whole fruit are the two layers and the one with a sliced fruit is the middle layer. To make what I'm saying easier to understand, in the first image, the two layers are (outer layers) are blue to represent blueberry flavoring, while the middle layer is orange, to represent the tangerine flavoring. Image-wise, it is very good and explains the flavors clearly, and presentation wise, the colors are used throughout, making it noticeable and appealing. In addition, I like that this pack of gum can be shared with your friend, and you can keep the other half to yourself.

☀TASTE (5/5): The gum was fantastic! It was perfectly chewy, and lasted about a good three hours or so before it began losing its flavor. I find it to be the biggest waste of money when you buy a pack of gum and it loses its flavor almost immediately. On the other hand, I find it to be a real steal when a product not only tastes fantastic, but also is a great deal. That's what really makes me keep going back for more from that line. I've also had purchased the sweet cherry+island lime, green apple+golden pineapple, and orchard peach+ripe mango one before, and all of them were pretty great. I really liked the taste of the tangerine, while the blueberry was a bit subtle. It was a little firm at first, but once you kept kneading it with your teeth and chewed it, it got silkier and more enjoyable with each bite. Probably my favorite, along with the orchard peach+ripe mango flavor.

☀RANDOM: 14 pieces is a great amount in each pack to decide if you really like the flavor or not. If you end up not liking, just pass it down & share it with someone who would enjoy it! I really liked it, but as always, I'm out to try all the new flavors coming out, especially in the summertime, so look forward to those. Go out & get yourself a pack. I got mine at Target for $1.29. Enjoy~

Adventures abound,
-Sandy
