Delightful Bites: Good Body Baked Goods

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, readers!

Celebrate America's birthday, and salute/appreciate all the soldiers and those who fight every day for us and our countries so that we have what many want: FREEDOM. A huge shout out and thank you to everyone in the armed forced and more.

I apologize for my absence lately! My laptop decided to go completely haywire on me, and I just got it back today (4th of July) so look forward to more post.
I hope you've all been staying hydrated, especially in this crazy 100+ degree Georgia heat this past weekend. I've been doing everything I can to stay cool-going to the pool, staying indoors, the whole shebang. I've also started babysitting my nieces and nephews while my cousin is away at a conference :)

Anyways, before I get too carried away, I'm here to introduce to you all Good Body Baked Goods, another company hailing from good ol' Boulder, Colorado, recently created by a former personal fitness trainer. Realizing her intense passion for fitness, healthy eating and her love of baking sprouted this growing company. What really touched me about this company was the motivation Susan, the company's CEO, struggled through in order to get where she is today, after a life-threatening experience that occurred in 1996, which resulted in the loss of her left leg. It took a lot of trials and tribulations to take that painful experience and create something wonderful from it, and I absolutely stand up and applaud such a strong woman like herself. In addition to this, what GBBG has really done is created mouthwatering, delectable bites for anyone to enjoy, without being worried about all the "bad" stuff, making it easy for adults and kids alike, to love their cookie and brownie bites. According to their website, all of their products are: Free of: grain, gluten, dairy, soy*, artificial preservatives/flavors/coloring, high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated fats and Full of: bold flavors, moist textures, digestible nutrients, pronounceable, recognizable ingredients. WOWZA-let me just get right into it, before I start or any of you start drooling soon.

☆All of the various flavors they offer

☆1. Lemon Blueberry Walnut

☆2. Almond Cranberry

☆3. Almond Butter Chocolate Chip

☆4. Mint Chocolate Chip

☆5. Chocolate Brownie

☆Close-up of the Lemon Blueberry Walnuts: Look at the large chunks of walnuts and the dried blueberries. Incredibly moist, jam-packed with real fruits and nuts. It was like a twist on my favorite morning baked good: blueberry muffin. Soft enough , but still with the perfect crunch. These were my FAVORITE (so hard to choose JUST one!).

☆Close-up of the Almond Cranberry: The only time I've ever eaten cranberries is during Thanksgiving when I get huge spoonfuls of my sister's homemade cranberry sauce. Otherwise, I'm not a fan, until I was introduced to this at least. Dried cranberries gave it a little tartness and added that unique texture with each moist bite.

☆Close-up of the Mint Chocolate Chip: Umm....YUM! These were incredible! I decided to pop a few of these in the microwave to experience with the texture of it. Sure enough, when I brought it out, it tasted like a warm chocolate chip and mint cookie. Gooey chocolate-y chips with a subtle mint flavor. Add a bit of mint chocolate chip ice cream-you got yourself a dessert.

☆Close-up of the Almond Butter Chocolate Chip: I don't know if you can tell by the picture, but you know how brownies have that really thin flaky layer on top? WELL....these did too! You don't even realize how healthy and good for your bodies these are compared to all those other baked goods out there, filled with trans fat, ridiculous grams of sugar and more.I loved these! The almond butter, in my opinion, gave it a little nuttiness, which I really liked. Also, the amount of chocolate was just perfect. 2-3 bites were enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. Now...if I were to eat the whole bag-I'd be in a sweet, sweet, sugar coma.

☆Close-up of the Chocolate Brownie: Just like the name mentioned, these were obviously your typical brownie. Oh good heavens-fudgy, not overly sweet, and made with good-for-you ingredients, my mom devoured these as soon as she opened the bag. These were light, and actually made the perfect treat, by warming them up in the microwave (freshly baked brownies) or freezing them (like a chocolate truffle). Just a hint of perfection right here.

PACKAGING: Super cute and simple. The package came sent to me in a cooler-like setup with an ice pack to keep these goodies cool, since they are perishable and must be refrigerated/frozen. After delicately tearing into the goodies, I immediately noticed that there's a little window to show you each of the cookie bites. You know I've mentioned here before how much I love it when companies show their products-no hiding, nothing. I got a peek of each of these tantalizing cookie bites before I got to eat them. As you can tell, they come gorgeously packaged in a freestanding white bag, with the flavors in the front, nutritional information in back, with all the right colors to correspond with the flavors-the typography I mention brings it all together. Lemon blueberry walnut-yellow (lemon) and blue (blueberry)-it's obvious that a lot of thought came into picking these colors out just perfectly. Also, the easy resealable packaging made it easy to just seal it back up-which was rarely ever done since my niece & nephew/family members slowly, but surely devoured each bag of bite-sized goodies.

TASTE: The only thing that was running through my mind was that I couldn't believe how healthy these were-all-natural, gluten-free, low glycemic, grain-free, dairy-free and preservative-free. HOLY MOLY, that was a mouthload! But I could not believe how good these tasted minus all those ingredients!! How to describe how they tasted? Okay-three of the flavors tasted like super soft cookies and/or freshly baked muffins, while the other two tasted like brownies, with the crumbly texture on top, soft and moist center, and all that chocolate-ly goodness in each bite. Ahhh-it wa do hard to pick a favorite flavor-but of I HAD to choose, it would absolutely be the lemon blueberry walnut. What part of that doesn't sound amazing? Lemon flavored bite with dried blueberries and large chunks of walnuts-seriously incredible. As much as I love my family, I had to keep this entire bag for myself. If any of them are reading this, I still love you :). (Check the descriptions below the pictures to see how each flavor tasted). Next, was the chocolate brownie. I can definitely tell you it's better & healthier than rise boxes brownie mixes. I froze these and they were incredible. They made a great dessert for the kids with a scoop of vanilla/chocolate ice cream. They remained moist. It's pretty obvious that these explosively delicious cookie bites were all baked with love & flavor. All of the flavors were a great hit with my family of picky eaters, so it's for certain they'll be a hit in any household they're in.

RANDOM: The fact that these can be so delicious while being free of a lot of various ingredients was honestly a pretty big surprise. They'd be the perfect snack for those with allergies, to take to lunch, for a little pick-me-up throughout the day or midnight snack (my dad's favorite). Amazing tasting, good for you and your family-I think it's time to get some of these in your pantries!

Overall, I really enjoyed these good body cookie bites (especially the lemon blueberry walnut one-a little too much) I highly recommend either warming them up or freezing them I hope that you all will enjoy these as much as I did! You haven't gone and purchased them yet? What're you waiting for? Go now! And before I forget to mention, any of their products that don't make it past their strict standards (sizes, edges, shapes, etc...) gets donated to various organizations that fight hunger and helps to minimize waste. You can't help but love charitable and local companies, like theirs!
