It's that time of the month again-Birchbox Time! I recently received my August Birchbox this past Saturday and wanted to share it with you all. This month, Birchbox partnered up with Pencils of Promise, a non-profit organization that builds schools and increases educational opportunities in the developing world, and 15% of any purchases made in the Birchbox shop will be donated to POP to help build a school in Central America. It doesn't get any better than that-so go & make your purchase today!
Let's get started:
☮Birchbox x Pencils of Promise-not your usual hot pink exterior packaging

☮Size comparison-usual Birchbox is above, the one below is the one from August-a little bit bigger most likely because of the razor
☮Long brochure-like product card with tidbits and tricks. This month's theme is: Beauty School

Overall, while I really like the fact that Birchbox is donating 15% of its profits made in the Birchbox shop in August, I am COMPLETELY disappointed and embarrassed (for them) in this month's box. The ONLY thing I'm excited about, sadly, is the Schick razor, which I don't even need since I get them for free anyways through free sampling programs. The beauty fixation, while it is full size, is NOTHING compared to the $15-20 Pixi products people are getting in their boxes this month, in addition to the other DELUXE samples. As you can tell, NOTHING in my box is deluxe-sized, except for the Q-tip swab things. I'm normally not the type to complain, especially over a $10 beauty subscription service, but this box alone is so horrible to the point where it's actually worth unsubscribing (and I've been a member for over 16 months now). Birchbox, I'm giving you ONE more chance to wow me in September (your 2nd anniversary), if you fail me once again, you're DONE. I'm better off sticking with MyGlam, at least that bag alone is better than this entire box.
I hope you all receive better boxes than me! I'd love to know what you got, since mine was ridiculously horrible~
Have a great day,
-Sandy
