I hope you all have been having a great week so far and have been counting down the days till the weekend. To brighten up your days a little bit and help ease that transition till the weekend, I'm bringing you all yet another Delightful Bites post :D So, if you've stopped by my blog before, you know how I love me some scrumptious caramels. Mr. Wonka, step aside, because gourmet caramels are really where it's at these days. Seriously though, if it weren't for those darn little menaces known as calories in the way, I could eat an my body's weight in these heavenly single bite-sized treats in a single day without a care I'm the world. Unfortunately though, nothing's ever too good to be that true, so you gotta eat your sweets in moderation and possibly made using the finest ingredients available. This little tidbit gives me great pleasure to introduce to you all today's company: Sweet Revolution.

The result is Sweet Revolution’s Maple Honey Caramels; her attempt to revolutionize the candy world as we know it." Bam! Couldn't have narrated it any better myself. Using the knowledge and experience she obtained from living all over the country, she created and perfected these decadent sweet treats and is ready to share it with the world. Unlike many other caramel companies, Sweet Revolution caramels are significantly different in the way they utilize their ingredients. Not only are they the ONLY confectioner nationwide making USDA certified organic salted caramels (which NO one else can say they do), but they're also making these sweet treats without using any processed white sugar-and still making them taste simply amazing. Now if that didn't make you wanna jump out of your seat and wipe up that drool, then you're in for a real sight, as the whimsical packaging will literally lift you off of your feet.

☮PACKAGING: The packaging alone is simply stunning and amazing. Each piece of maple honey caramel is carefully cut into large 1' pieces, wrapped in parchment paper, placed into a hand stamped Kraft box, tied using a linen string & secured with a wax seal. The fact that Sweet Revolution takes this much time and consideration into just their packaging alone really goes to show you how much they love what they do and how much they want their customers to enjoy every aspect of their products. I love the little touches that are added to the box to give it a "vintage" appeal. It doesn't scream "eat me!!" nor is it an eye soar, which many companies tend to forget that it can be sort of a turn-off to buyers. I also like that the expiration date is printed on the box so that you know when to eat it by (trust me, with caramels this good, you'll already have eaten them way before they expire!). In addition, what really caught my eye was the beautiful wax seal with the ship, it's really the icing on the cake. I think my heart broke into little pieces when I had to break the seal in order to get to the caramels, but then once I actually tasted the caramels, I quickly recovered from that minor heartbreak. With whimsical packaging like theirs, it'd make a great gift for your loved ones, friends, co-workers, and even for any special holidays and occasions. I already have a few people in mind who I'd like to gift a box to.
☮TASTE: Buttery, sweet, smooth & rich. As you unwrap each caramel slowly, the whiff of the maple syrup alone will immediately ignite your tastebuds. From there, as it slowly reaches your lips, the deep and complex honey and maple syrup undertones will cause your mouth to go into a flavor frenzy. Chew slowly & savor every bite. They're so good and addicting that you can't help but be a little bit sad whenever you see your pile of 12 start to decrease. As if this feeling weren't good enough, the vanilla bean and sea salt slowly start coming into play to mellow out the flavors, which give you a tasty aftertaste, not the bitter, unpleasant aftertastes you get from poorly made caramels. These were so enjoyable, I seriously can't stop raving about them. The generous 1' inch pieces will literally melt in your mouth, like ice in hot tea. Why did these have to disappear so fast? I wish I were a magician to make them magically appear in the snack bowl in my living room counter.
☮RANDOM: In addition to their best-selling original maple honey caramels, Sweet Revolution also offers various maple honey flavored caramels including toasted almond, golden classic and golden citrons. Now, if that wasn't enough, they also offer a maple honey caramel spread-I can't imagine how bomb-diggity this would taste if the caramel candy blew me out of the water.
Overall, these caramels went above and beyond my expectations, especially considering the fact that I always liked honey more than maple syrup growing up. The incredible caramels paired with the classy packaging are sure to be the center of attention at any shindig or a real winner for any gift-giving occasions. I can already tell you that when I make an order to give a few boxes to my friends and family, I'm ordering myself a good bit of these-for me ONLY ;).
